Rosh Hashanah – 1 Tishrei 5781

Genesis 21:1-34

1 Samuel 1:1–2:10

1 Thesselonians 4:13-18

Updated Thursday, 9/28- now live-stream only at YouTube  (except Tashlich)

  • Sept 18, Friday, 7:30 pm. Erev Rosh Hashanah Service.  Usher in the spiritual New Year celebrating the goodness of Messiah! This will be a traditional service including the sounding of the shofar (ram’s horn) and a message on the importance of the holiday for all believers in Yeshua.
  • Sept 19, Saturday, 10:30 am. Rosh Hashanah Morning Service.  We will continue in prayer and meditation at this traditional service.
  • Sept 20, Sunday, 4:00 pm. Tashlich Service at La Jolla Shores.  Join us for this beautiful time as we cast breadcrumbs into the sea to remind us of the important truths of the High Holiday season, “Thou will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.” (Micah 7:19). We will also have an immersion service for new believers in Messiah. Bring your own dinner (and breadcrumbs) and meet us on the grassy area by the main lifeguard tower.
  • Sept 27, Sunday, 7:30 pm. Erev Yom Kippur/Kol Nidre Service.  We will have a special assembly for this holiest day of the biblical calendar. We will enter into the congregational fast starting sundown Tuesday through sundown Wednesday as we pray for our spiritual lives and for our people of Israel. Special Note: In the spirit of “tzedakah”(helping others), we are suggesting that all worshipers bring to service some non-perishable food items or a check donation which will in turn be given to help some needy families through Jewish Family Service. It would be fitting to donate the value of the amount which we would normally have eaten when not fasting.
  • Sept 28, Monday, 10:30 am Yom Kippur Morning Service. We will continue in prayer and fasting at this traditional service.
  • Sept 28, Monday, 5:30 pm. Neilah Service. The closing service plus Yizkor, followed by a fellowship meal at 6:30 pm to break the fast.  Bring your own meal (not a potluck).
  • Oct 3, Saturday, 10:30 am. Sukkot Service. Join us for this exciting praise service as we celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. We will be able to have Kiddush in the synagogue Sukkah and there will be a great time of Davidic worship and praise. There will also be a special message on the significance of the holy day for all believers in Messiah.  Don’t miss it and invite a friend!  Ana Adonai hoshiah na!
  • Oct 10, Saturday, 7:00 pm. Simchat Torah Service. This will be a fitting close to the fall Holy Days as we “rejoice in the Torah.” There will be plenty of music and dance as we celebrate God’s gift of the Word.

Many other meetings are now live-stream or online via zoom. All Shabbat services will still be live streamed at our Kehilat Ariel YouTube Channel to be viewed at your convenience.  Everyone is invited to all events. Stay connected with the mishpochah and see you and your family soon!
